About Indian Society for Adult Immunization

Our society began nearly ten years ago when I, working in critical care, recognized the vital role of vaccines in preventing severe illness. We aimed to promote health through adult immunization, a neglected area in our country. Early efforts were challenging, but perspectives changed over time. In 2019, plans for progress began, and although the 2020 National Congress was derailed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the arrival of vaccines renewed hope. Post-pandemic, awareness of adult vaccination grew significantly. In 2022, a virtual World Congress attracted 1,700 delegates. With dedicated colleagues, we then organized India’s first in-person adult immunization conference. ISAI continues advancing adult vaccination with energy and commitment.
